Can my tyre save me money?

The simple answer is yes. You just need to know how.

Here are a few simple steps you can take to ensure that you’re not spending excess amounts of money on your agricultural tyres.

  1. IF or VF? Choose your technical standard carefully. To save time, use an increased load capacity of up to 40%. And by adapting pressure to the load and the driving speed of your tractor, this will enable you to work with the same pressure in the fields and on the road, as well as saving time.
  2. Choose the right pressure for maximum contact with the soil. Wide tyres are best for this. However, you’ll also need to ensure that there’s minimum damage to the tyre when in use.
  3. Choose the right size. This may seem like a no-brainer, but the right size for your tractor, the soil and what you use it for is one of the first things you should consider.
  4. Adapt the tyre pressure to the load and the speed. This will mean you don’t get extra spinning, which will divide the slip ratio by half and reduce the fuel consumption by 10%. The optimum slip ratio is around 12 to 15%.

All the above points will save you money, time and fuel.
